Income generated from the sale of hunting and fishing permits helps fund fish and wildlife management projects. It is used for habitat enhancements and management activities specifically designed to improve hunting and fishing opportunities on Fort Liberty.

Fort Liberty Hunting and Fishing Permits are available using web and e-mail processes. The permit counter is open on a limited basis, typically on Wednesday from 11:00-16:00; however, we recommend calling the office ahead of time to ensure someone will be available to help you. Our number is 910.432.5427, and the address (in Google Maps) is 5094 McKellar's Road. Please see the instructions below which articulate how one may obtain a permit.
1. New Fort Liberty Permittee:
a. If you do not have an iSportsman account, create an account. Click "Register" in the blue bar above to create your account.
b. If you have an existing iSportsman account from another installation(s), click “My Account” in the blue bar above, and log in to enter the Fort Liberty portal.

2. Renewal Permits: Log in to your account, and select “Acquire Permits”:
a. If your desired permit is not showing as available, send an e-mail to fbisportsman@gmail.com explaining the type of permit you are trying to renew/acquire. Include your iSportsman user name and/or permit number in your e-mail.
b. You will receive an email with further instructions.
3. Fishing Only Permit:
a. If you are a 50% or more Disabled Veteran, or 100% Disabled Civilian, email a scanned copy or picture of your disability paperwork to fbisportsman@gmail.com. Include your iSportsman user name in your email. We will reply to your email with instructions so you may obtain your free permit.
b. If you are not disabled, simply click on “Acquire Permits” when you are logged into your account, and select the permit you wish to purchase. Complete the purchasing process, and print your permit.
4. Hunt Only or Combination Hunt/Fish Permit:
a. If you are a 50% or more Disabled Veteran, or 100% Disabled Civilian, email a scanned copy or picture of your disability paperwork and your state hunter safety certification from any state to fbisportsman@gmail.com. Include your iSportsman user name in your email. We will reply to your email with instructions so you may obtain your free permit.
b. If you are not disabled, e-mail a scanned copy or picture of your hunter safety certification from any state to fbisportsman@gmail.com. Include your iSportsman user name in your email. You will receive an email with further instructions.
c. In your response from us you will be instructed to view the Fort Liberty Hunter Orientation and take a quiz. You may access links for the orientation and quiz here. Send in your quiz answers via email (fbisportsman@gmail.com); upon review you will get an email response with further guidance on how to complete the permitting process.
5. Printing Your Permit: When you acquire your permits, you can either print them from a computer, or use your smartphone (under My Account: Home – look for Print Permit) to show our Conservation Officers your valid permit when you are checked in the field. We are also working to open the Hunting & Fishing Center soon where you can pick-up your printed permit card, if you desire.
